D-Link Introduces Free 'Central WiFiManager' for BusinessFountain Valley (California), 16/07/2015
D-Link today announced immediate availability of its free* «Central WiFiManager,» a new Wireless Controller Software designed to provide comprehensive Wireless Access Point (AP) management for demanding business environments and multi-site installations. The web-based software enables network managers to manage up to 500 APs through a single, secure portal.

Central WiFiManager (CWM-100) provides network administrators an affordable solution for getting a scalable and secure wireless network deployed, so employees and guests can get seamless wireless connectivity. Network administrators will then be able to take advantage of real-time monitoring, robust management features and detailed reporting.

Additional features of the new Wireless Controller Software include automatic channel and power output control, advanced bandwidth optimization and band steering. Security is assured with support for local database, external RADIUS server, LDAP, and Wi-Fi passcode authentication types. User access control is also easily managed to ensure that only authorized devices have access to the various functions the network provides.

«Our new Central WiFiManager Controller Software enables businesses with a robust yet affordable solution for building and managing a very scalable wireless infrastructure,» said Steve Olen, director of product management, switching and wireless, D-Link Systems, Inc. «The software can be hosted on-site, off-site, or even in the cloud, is full of features for customization, and with real-time monitoring with detailed reporting, network administrators can be confident they have a solid solution delivering them the control they need without breaking an IT budget

Central WiFiManager also supports a complex multi-tenant architecture to provide multi-layer management authority, making it easy to assign roles for a multi-site management environment. For example, a headquarters administrator can manage and monitor the APs in all offices, while a regional administrator can only manage and monitor the local network. This framework is augmented by NAT pass through, which means the controller can manage APs that are behind a router or firewall.

Availability
Central WiFiManager is available now and comes free with the purchase of select wireless access points*. More information can be found on D-Link’s website.
