  • Grants have been awarded for 3,742 promotional and internationalisation actions involving 1,149 Valencian companies
  • Over 20% of the total amount has been allocated to companies affected by the floods of 29th October

The Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, through the General Directorate of Entrepreneurship and Internationalisation, has granted €14.47 million to support the internationalisation of SMEs in the Valencian Community, as published this Thursday in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana.

Ester Olivas, the General Director of Entrepreneurship and Internationalisation, explained that this grant scheme supports companies’ participation in international fairs and the development of international promotion plans for Valencian businesses.

In the current round of grants, the General Directorate has supported a total of 1,149 Valencian SMEs, with 3,742 actions related to internationalisation and the external promotion of products from the Valencian Community.

Ester Olivas highlighted that “of the total number of beneficiary companies, 233—19% of the total—are located in municipalities affected by the floods of 29th October, with an amount that accounts for 20% of the total grants awarded.”

These companies operate primarily in the habitat, agri-food, chemical industries, wood, and agro-industrial sectors.

Among the supported actions, participation in international fairs, activities related to international marketing plans, services concerning trademark registration and monitoring, and other industrial property services stand out.

Additionally, services related to the certification, homologation, and registration of products, as well as the new hiring of technical staff for foreign trade, have also been supported.

The General Director of Entrepreneurship and Internationalisation has announced that “work is already underway on the next round of grants to promote the internationalisation of exporting SMEs,” which will cover expenses incurred from 1st June 2024 to 31st May 2025, and will be tailored to provide differentiated and expanded support to companies affected by the floods.
