Leading age management facility, Cenegenics Carolinas, located in Charleston (age management Charleston) and Charlotte (age management Charlotte) is encouraged by a recent study suggesting low doses of the hormone DHEA may help sexual function and menopausal symptoms in women.

In the yearlong study, published in the December issue of the International Menopause Society journal Climacteric, Italian researchers followed a group of 48 menopausal women and found that low-doses of DHEA can help relieve menopausal symptoms in women while also improving their sex lives.

DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) is a natural steroid hormone produced primarily by the adrenal glands and is one of the principal hormone levels Cenegenics Carolinas focuses on in their bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (hormone therapy Charleston, hormone therapy Charlotte).

«We are pleased by the recent findings of the new study on DHEA and its benefits,» said Mickey Barber, CEO and CMO of Cenegenics Carolinas. «While this study provides new insight into the function of hormones in relation to age management, it is important to note that DHEA should only be used under the supervision of a doctor trained in DHEA supplementation
